A sound portfolio takes time to grow. It doesn't
happen in a few weeks or months. Like in Nature,
a young sapling with enoug room and lite caring
over time will grown into a beautiful treee and bear fruit.
It isn't a question, it is a matter of allowing.
I have been involved in the financial markets since March of 1981. I have seen Bull runs that were so amazing in their ascent, so sure of future gains they eventually attracted everyone at the top, even cabbies, waiters and waitresses with their rose colored glasses... And then the eventual crashes so vicious that even the Devil himself had to wince.
I have personally seen great traders do so well they thought they'd never lose again to winding up getting caught up in the volatility of the market so extreme, that no matter what they did, they wound up taking huge hits and getting out right back to where they started.
I myself have had the extreme success and then those same hits to my P&L as the market struck at the chords of all who trade: Humans are driven by their fear and greed in the market and the market will eventually wring them out.
So if we can define what stops us from making excellent returns in the market and we can automate some strategies so humans are not involved in the decision processes that actually show great promise, what then?
THAT is why I got involved in the automated systems area of the financial industry. I know that there are systems, that if followed over time, with diligence, patience and a well funded account, that literal fortunes can and have been made.
